A fairly mild and VERY fulfilling January thunders towards its end. Please forgive the mess on this site: this was a month of new partnerships and new projects. This new, expanding version 2.0 of our AHHS website reflects the apparent chaos that growth and change may bring!
Ginny and Nick found instant partnerships with new horses Maggie and George. Lady and Squirt found new homes and new job descriptions that suit them to a “T”. Jessie sent Volly here for “boarding school” while she returned to her beloved New Zealand for 6 months. And Mark and I found new identity as a married couple. Congratulations all!
Over the next few weeks look for website additions and lengthening days. Any ideas how we can make our website better serve YOU? We can’t do anything about the weather but we can improve our online equestrian experience!

Deva’s Delight: 16.1 1/2 grey TB mare, 12 years old. Dev is a total sweetheart, with a willing disposition and cloudlike gaits. Like many grey horses, she has benign melanoma under her tail and behind her jaw, which do not interfere with her happiness or ride ability. She is an easy broodmare and a wonderful mother (the photo on our homepage is Dev and her filly, Sky, born on Mother’s Day!) Dev is a delightful ride for a soft, knowledgeable rider.
Congratulations to the Wenner family of Harpers Ferry, WV.
May she bless your family as much as she’s blessed us!

“Vamoose!” 14 year old, 16.2 hand TB gelding. Classy, correct and kind gentleman perfect for Junior or amateur! Moose has a solid foundation on the flat and over fences He has fox hunted, shown lightly, and loves trails. Rides quietly in either a snaffle or string hackamore. “Just A Sioux” 16 year old 16 hand registered TB mare. Sioux is a breathtaking dressage horse and a packer over fences. She is a delight to ride in a snaffle, hackamore, or even bridleless! Sioux has successfully shown and evented. She has even traveled back in time to compete in medieval reenactments!

Nugget: 14.1 Palomino QH gelding, 13 years. Versatility plus! Solid dressage foundation, neck reins, cute jumper, loves the cross country! Bold and forward but light in your hand in either a snaffle of a rope hackamore. Fun in the ring, on trails–even swimming!

Tommy Talooka is a 2001 registered Appendix Quarter Horse gelding. With his bright chestnut coat and his undeniable charisma, he stands out in any crowd.
Tommy is extremely smart and rises to the challenge of learning new skills. He has loads of natural horsemanship training, particularly in the Parelli system. He is working second level dressage. He is being started over fences, and with flying lead changes. Tommy has the mind and the athleticism to excel in any discipline.

Holland: 16.3 bay Hanoverian mare, 12 years old. Holly is as kind and laid back as they come! Easy to handle and compliant around both humans and other horses, Holly is a favorite here on the farm. Her classic conformation and sweet disposition combine to make her an extraordinary mother. We purchased her as a broodmare, however we rode her once “just to see.” She was willing, soft and responsive, an absolute joy! Congratulations to Kathy O’Neill of MD!

Zydeco Boogaloo: 15.3 bay Oldenburg-cross mare, 12 years. Boogie’s grandsire, Zeus, is one of the leading sires of jumpers in Europe. Her half-uncle Alla’Czar was the 2002 US National Hunter Breeding Sire.
Due to her former owner’s circumstances, Boogie has very limited training. With her long floating gaits and sweet personality, she is truly a hidden treasure as a broodmare or sporthorse prospect. We have played the Parelli games with her and she has proven to be smart and sensitive. She tackles obstacles and jumps on line with willingness and ease. Boogie is looking for a home where she will receive the training to develop her awesome potential, or raise the next generation of champions. $3000, negotiable to the right home.

Just wanted to let you know how well Casper is doing. He settled-in just fine and has become very attached to his new pasture palls. He goes out during the day and loves his stall on these chilly nights. We have been riding him about four days per week in the ring and had him on one short trail ride. What a sweet horse he is.
