Horse training begins and ends in the trainer’s mind. We need to have clear understanding of WHAT we are asking, HOW we are asking and WHY we are asking. We need to think like our horses to create a progressive plan for their training and development. We need to analyze our horses’ reactions to tell us what went right, what went wrong, and how we can fix it. Most of all we need to control our own reactions and emotions to be the thoughtful, compassionate leaders our our horses need us to be. The horse trainer’s mindset is her greatest asset!
